A HyperFund promoter pleaded guilty in the $1.8 billion fraud case

Rodney Burton, known as Bitcoin Rodney, pleaded guilty in the HyperFund case. He agreed with the charge of conspiracy to operate an unlicensed money transmitting business.

According to the U.S. prosecution, Burton promoted HyperFund from June 2020 to January 2022. Under the agreement, he received at least $7.85 million from the activity of the unlicensed business. He faces up to five years in prison.
