One of the largest stock exchange operators Deutsche Boerse is considering to launch futures for the first cryptocurrency, for Bitcoin. This writes CNBC with reference to the local edition of WirtschaftsWoche. Deutsche Boerse spokesman said:
We are thinking about futures, which will enable private and institutional investors to protect their Bitcoin investments.
Representatives of Deutsche Boerse are not ready to give the exact date of the Bitcoin derivatives launch yet. Nevertheless, if this happens, it can be surely considered not only the largest, but also the most innovative stock exchange in Europe. Also a representative of Deutsche Boerse added:
We take into account not only the positive aspects of cryptocurrency derivatives, but also potential problems that need to be solved.
Such problems include the instability of the cryptocurrency spot market, its inadequate regulation, as well as Bitcoin high price volatility. The press service of Deutsche Boerse said:
As a fully regulated exchange, we have to solve all above problems before launching these products.
